AN ODE TO BENTON

On 3rd May 2002, Benton (first name unknown) died of natural causes. His death was a shock to us all, especially as we all thought he would die much sooner that he actually did. Having been given only a week to live after his premature birth, Benton defied all the odds and lasted to the grand old age of17, despite his horrific disabilities.

Stufari feels it should make a final thank-you to Benton, who bought happiness to so many peoples lives.

So here are a few reminders of Benton's life and the troubles that lead to his eventual demise.

(Benton when told he had 48 hours to live)

(Benton spent a lot of his time trying to work out how to correctly use the zip on his bag, while discussing world matters with his good friend Tim)

(Benton was prone to hearing little voices in his head during the run up to his death, which had a heavy impact on his mental state, as well as his neck)

(Benton rejoiced in keeping his left hand in his pockets most of the time to hide his six fingers)

(However, before his death Benton had an operation that fixed this problem, and could live like a real human being with 4 fingers and a thumb. He also had two bum cracks but no one ever got to see that)

(Always one for flattery, Benton enjoyed being told he was the most attractive man in the world)

(Benton's final day out of his short life was a family trip to London, which was ruined when he refused to use any of the public toilets because 'he couldn't go', and spent the whole day in agony)

(He was never a good navigator, and ended up getting lost, going home across the English Channel)

(Always a keen reader, Benton especially enjoyed reading books with no words in them, and imagined naked women on the pages instead)

(Benton suffered cerebral palsy on irregular occasions, and was often seen making expressions such as this)

(His phobia of pencilcases didn't help his school days, and would regular suffer seizures in most of his lessons)

(Benton loved the theatre, in particular strip clubs, this one being a known favourite of his)

(A ladies man, Benton would always be dressed to kill, and enjoyed the company of the opposite sex, even if they were always sat at least a couple of metres away from him)

(His poor eyesight often led to him wondering around aimlessly not knowing where to go. In this instance, Benton accidentally offended the man in the left of this photo without realising, who is about to kick his head in)

(He would be found regularly hanging round in toilets, as he loved the smell of urinals)

(A popular man, Benton will forever be remembered for his hard work for charity, his love of coats and his appearance on 'Kilroy' which was never screened due to foul and abusive language and sexual acts performed on film by him)

(He was later caught by police and sentenced to 9 months community service, which he never did)

(Benton's proudest achievement was getting his letter published in the Radio Times, which he was very proud about)

WE LOVE YOU BENTON. REST IN PEACE.
